Tidbit Tuesday #41

Ohhh...It's Tuesday and I almost forgot about my tidbit. That's because I had yesterday off and today totally felt like a Monday! Glad I got my head back on straight! :)

Today's tidbit comes from someone I adore! One of the sweetest people I've "met" in blogland!!

Her name is Cindy and she blogs over at Adventures of the Singing Quilter.  One of these days when there is no more threat of snow, we are going to get together. Aren't we Cindy? I haven't forgotten! ;)

Here is Cindy's tip and I Love it!!!!

"I went to my quilt retreat last week and someone had an awesome idea that I though you might like to use on your Tidbit Tuesday sometime.

You know when you struggle to lay your quilt out just right.  You think you have it, and then  you sew it together only to find you probably should have moved this block over there, etc.  Well...here's a easy, and very cheap, way to help solve that problem before a stitch is taken.

It's called a peep hole.  Yep...those little things you look through your door to see who's bothering...I mean stopping to visit you?  :o)  They're only around $5.00 at your local home improvement store.  You can look at your quilt through this little gem and see the pattern and color and how well your layout really is.  It's truly amazing!"

Awesome tip!! Thank you Cindy!!
Remember, if you have a tip you'd like to share, please email them to me at karrielyne@gmail.com!! I still have a few waiting in line to share, but I can always use more!

Much Love!!!

  1. I put a comment over on the Riley Blake blog but I didn't know if you would get it sooooo, I will ask you here. How many FQ did you use in the Pocket Full of Pinwheels? It just mentioned FQ pack and I want to use another fabric line. Please advise...thanks so much!

  2. Clever. Thanks, Cindy and KarrieLyne!

  3. Girl!! I LOVE YOU!!! I gave you some props on my blog, sister. You just always put a big Midwest smile on my face!! And I didn't forget either. This summer we really need to plan a road trip! XOXO

  4. What a great tip! I'm going to go pick up one of those today! And I completely understand about your Tuesday confusion - I had the same problem, didn't remember to do my Toddlerless Tuesday post until I was just falling asleep - so I guess it'll be today before it gets up! Have a great day!!

  5. I've heard that really works well. I may have to invest in one.

has anyone ever gone the quilt show in (padukah) kentucky not sure about this spelling you know what i mean a friend it wanting to go i dont want to stay overnight is it worth going any advice thanks diana

  7. I would have never thought of that!

  8. another way to check your blocks and especially the balance of color is using the B/W setting on your digital camera. You can immediately see all the light/med/dark fabrics...

  9. What an interesting concept... very cool...

  10. Great tip. I have a design wall that I use, but you are right, sometimes it is really hard to tell if you are positioning your blocks so that your quilt looks like you want it to.

  11. Cool. We found a peep hole in the dresser we got from my in-laws after they died.

  12. Great tip - thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I really love hearing from you!! :)

Happy Quilting!
