Tidbit Tuesday #33

Ooooooookkkaaayyyyyyyyyyyy.....it's Tidbit Tuesday and I have a good one for ya!!

This is kind of like a "my brothers friends mothers fathers uncles daughter in laws sister" kind of linkage so try and keep up, k? LOL

Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict *waves* emailed me with this tip.

She was reading The Bitchy Stitcher.... this post... (I recommend following this blog. I mean, come on. The name it self lured me in! ;))

In the comments of this post, Stephanie said....

"FYI: If you get blood on fabric, all you need to do is use your own spit and it will completely take the blood out. Sounds gross, but it works! (Longarmers rely on it, as strangers prefer to NOT have blood on theirs! hehe)"

So in other words, either stop sticking yourselves with needles or sewing your fingers (OUCH), or start spitting on your quilts. *grins*

You wonder why I always wash my quilts first..hee hee :)

Have a tip of your own, or a tip you saw somewhere else that you think is helpful? PLEASE oh PLEASE email me at karrielyne@gmail.com with the subject line of "tips". Please? :D

Much Love!!!

  2. I mentioned that tip to a friend and she said that it only works on your own blood. Not sure why you'd have someone else's blood on your quilt but I guess it makes interesting trivia.

Love these tips! Thanks for sharing!

  3. OMG I've not heard of that. I always worry about sticking my finger and bleeding on a customer's quilt, but knock on wood I've been lucky. But if I should I'll just spit (ha that sounds so funny)

  4. If it is someone else's blood pour hydrogen peroxide on it, it will take out the blood.

  5. It does work! My mother and I used to have a business making draperies and curtains and we always did that.

  6. It sounds gross, but I've done it for years.

  7. Definitely works! Use this at work all the time (drapery business). An easy way to apply said spit is with a little wad of white thread.

  8. I feel like my secret is out... I no longer have to be ashamed that I spit on my fabric if it gets a little speckle of blood... I guess I'm not a vampire after all...

  10. I was gonna mail you this tidbit ages ago but chicken out because I thought you'd be grossed out. My mother has professed this for years. I had to use this method this summer when I bled on the white of a quilt and guess what? It works, it really works!
